Melloy Dodge Co-Sponsors KOATs for Kids

Beginning November 24^th and running through the end of December, Melloy Dodge will be co-sponsoring KOATs for Kids.  Now in its twenty-second year, this event has delivered approximately 300,000 coats to deserving children since it started in 1989 as a statewide community event for New Mexicans.

With so many great holiday sales on for the season, there are certainly great deals where you can help those children in need in your community by picking up some coats to donate or giving pre-owned coats that your own children might have outgrown.

New Mexicans can donate new or gently used winter coats at Melloy Dodge as well as Molina Healthcare, Walgreens, New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union, Mattress Firm, Circle K, Star Bright Cleaners or KOAT 7. Cash donations will also be accepted at New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union.  The donated money is used to purchase additional coats.

Coats will be distributed by Albuquerque Public Schools, New Mexico Public Education Department, and the New Mexico National Guard.

Besides the assistance of Melloy Dodge in making this event happen, other local businesses involved in helping our community include Molina Healthcare, New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union, Mattress Firm, Circle K, Star Bright Cleaners, Walgreens, the New Mexico National Guard, A Virtual Receptionist, Hot Shot Services, the New Mexico Public Education Department, and Albuquerque Public Schools. Even the governor, Secretary of Education Hannah Skandera, and members of the National Guard have already gotten involved by handing out coats at James H. Rodriguez Elementary in Espanola.

Driving Away Hunger

This month, Melloy Dodge has partnered with Cumulus Media, Inc. to host “Driving Away Hunger," a food drive that supports two local food pantries:  

• The Storehouse of Greater Albuquerque (http://www.thestorehouseabq.org/), which serves Bernalillo County and beyond, and  
• Storehouse West (http://www.storehousewest.org/), which serves Sandoval County. The Storehouse is a non-profit, community-supported agency providing food, children’s clothing and hygiene supplies to families and individuals experiencing short-term and long-term need.

We are gathering food items to support their Thanksgiving meal and much more.  If you are able to support our effort, please drop your donations by Melloy Dodge at 9621 Coors Blvd NW. We appreciate your consideration.  Below is a list of items The Storehouse has requested:

Driving Away Hunger This Holiday Season

Melloy Dodge roars into the holiday season with a “Driving Away Hunger” food donation campaign through the month of November. We are accepting non-perishable food items from our customers and staff, and our goal is to stuff a Dodge Ram pickup truck with food for our needy families in Rio Rancho and Albuquerque. 

We are pleased to be partnered with Storehouse West and The Storehouse of Greater Albuquerque to provide much needed food to the hungry families of Bernalillo county and Sandoval County. Both of these fine food pantries are committed to providing free food and clothing to our working poor. Melloy Dodge is excited to be affiliated of these two outstanding non-profit organizations who have served our surrounding communities for decades.

Melloy Dodge Launches Hispanic Campaign

Melloy Dodge is pleased to announce Chrysler and Ram Trucks “A Todo, Con Todo” campaign, which translates “To Everything, With Everything.” This comprehensive campaign is targeted at our Hispanic buyers and features a 15-city ad and radio campaign in both English and Spanish.

We are focusing on Ram Trucks, and the 30-second television commercials and 60-second radio ads will feature bilingual buyers in Texas, describing their real-life experiences with Ram Trucks. This exciting campaign will embrace our English and Spanish language customers with a focus on our Latino buyers. Dodge Ram 1500 and Dodge Ram 2500 are proven winners with our Latino customer, and this campaign will showcase this relationship. The radio ads will begin running in Albuquerque this month as well as nationally. The campaign will continue through the first quarter of 2012. Commercials will be featured on Spanish language stations, such as Telemundo and Univision, as well as radio. The print ads will run in both local and national markets. National publications, such as Hispanic Business, Automundo, and ESPN La Revista, will carry our new campaign as well as be featured in local Spanish-language newspapers.
